What To Do in Grande Prairie this November

Fall is officially over in Grande Prairie, but that doesn’t mean the fun stops. Thankfully, there are several ways to spend November in this Alberta city. Keep reading to discover our top three things to do in Grande Prairie this November.
Celebrate Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day takes place annually in Canada on November 11. This year, due to COVID-19, many Remembrance Day ceremonies are being cancelled, but that doesn’t mean you can’t participate. Pick up a poppy at the grocery store or pharmacy and wear it with pride. In addition, the City of Grande Prairie is encouraging families to print out their complimentary poppy colouring sheets to complete together and hang in their windows as a way of saying thank you to the veterans.
See an Outdoor Movie
Just because the cold weather is setting in, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a COVID-friendly movie. Thanks to the Evergreen Park Outdoor Theatre, you can still enjoy watching a movie on the big screen in Grande Prairie, without having to worry about spreading or contracting the virus. Grande Sunset Theatre at Evergreen Park has two showings this month, a double feature on November 14 at 7:00 pm where Wonder Park and Mean Girls will be played, and a showing of Rocketman on November 13, at 7:00 pm, presented by the Grande Prairie Pride Society. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
Enjoy the Snow
Winter has officially arrived in Grande Prairie, but rather than using it as an excuse to stay indoors, why not get out there and enjoy the snow? After all, it’s only going to get colder as the winter goes on, so now is the time to partake in outdoor activities before temperatures really drop. Dust off your snowshoes, cross country skis, and toboggans and get active! There are plenty of beautiful parks in Grande Prairie to enjoy, such as Muskoseepi Park and Crystal Lake Park.
